Late one Friday night I discovered that a friend of mine lives right next to Cafe Joie.
When I was house searching a few years ago I ran into this spot looking for a bathroom while it was still under construction. The man said “come back in a few months when we open!” and a few weeks ago I finally did.
I had a chai tea latte and a Pistachio macaroon. The latte was pretty good, and the macaroon exceptional. A cute little cafe, I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the area.
Macaroons sure are expensive though, going for over $1 a piece, and just as much of a hastle to make yourself if I remember correctly. I love the chewey soft crunch of a macaroon though. I think I’ll have to settle for trying to make a pavlova, and if that doesn’t work out I’ll turn it into an Eaton Mess. Hold me to that future blog post.
We found this little man at our table. I added his hat.
